Add MessageI love you guys who think you are the originals. Lived at Gilreath 1989 and we had hundreds and hundreds of people, countless kegs, and yes, the obligatory courtyard burning of the furniture. Police, Fire, etc. Any of you younger people hear of the riots in Southwest after the Sox lost to the Mets 1986? We made national news for that one.
41 Hobart Lane...so many stories, so little time. How can I forget breaking out the black keg when the other kegs ran dry. For anyone who was drinking there that fateful night in 95...sorry. The black keg had been tapped a couple of weeks earlier and the remains left in the garage. I'm sorry that 5 kegs weren't enough and that you guys forced our hand. Actually...no I'm not. Ha! Ha!
I lived on Hobart in 1997....and was certainly part of the hoedown AND the mudwrestling w/ my roommate Tim. Our place was trashed...with mud..However, we were lucky no one in our unit was injured..guys in a few units down someone broke their leg, or was it an arm? And yes, i too recall the landlord being taken away with "chestpains"
I have photos of the hole FUN..mess..., i'll scan and upload. Wasn't this the hoedown to end all hoedowns for a while???
I don't remeber a time when the Police didn't show up! I can't remember any exact times or dates - must have been a good 4 years huh? I was going to Hobart before I even went to UMASS. It was my first "off campus" experience. Class of 2000! Umass '96-'00. I have to pass this page around to everyone. Such a great idea!
I peed on you a few times and drank on you a bunch. Sorry... and thanks
I was a resident of Hobart lane (#49 to be exact) back in 95/96 - HOLLA!
Did you read the police report from '94 on the news page? I was friends with some people who lived there and I remember when that happened - when the old lady cop came in and bought a cup and everybody was yelling "narc"! - and the kid saying "i'm not going down alone on this!" anybody know what ended up happeneing? did he go down alone?
I remember this kid with a nickname of "crazy" or maybe it was quazar? He was always broke and would steal my food. Another guy named uncle BJ that used to boil hot dogs every night. No one has seen or heard from him in 10 years. I think he moved to Canada.
I miss Hobart. After I left UMASS in 1997, myself and others would come up on the weekends from Dorchester to hit our friends house (Hegarty, Keddy, Dennehy, Higgins, Ginand and Casey). Funny stories....Chasing a roid head down the street with a knife because he was threatening everyone at the party, playing dropkick murphys as loud as we could at 4AM (before everyone else thought it was cool music and with their original singer from Dorchester), Bringing DJ rap mixes from the clubs on Lansdowne to use at the parties, Going shopping with a kid's credit card we found after he dropped it the night before when he started a fight with us....OH THE MEMORIES!!!!! Hit the hodown while I was in school up there and got so drunk I swam across the pond (that was the mud year).
I dont remember much Just a giant red head roaming around the street beating people up back in 1997
and a little homeless dog named oreo always in search of his next meal near 39-41 hobart
